How do you get children to see learning new words as an exciting activity?
MAKING LEARNING OF NEW WORDS FUN!
My new students love cartoons. They would always ask me to put up cartoons for them to watch.
Since my main goal was their ability to read, I had to go on Youtube to source for educational animations.
My laptop is filled with these discoveries.
My students love them.
I have these videos in diverse forms.
I have one that is a two-hour read-along fairy story. That’s their best
I have the ones that come in form of a song.
One amazing thing about this is that it’s a great attention grabber.
When I’m busy with something and don’t want them diverting my attention (especially after school), I put the videos.
I love how they enjoy watching these animations and learning at the same time.
This is one of the many strategies I implemented this term to equip my learners with reading and comprehension abilities.
As the week goes by, I hope to share them here.
I have a whole lot of stories to tell but, let’s drop it slowly .
